Series_C (Leeversrich) 1950

This is a class recorder. The leevers Rich recorders did not do too well in the BBC as it has a slow start time. This machine was used by the MGM Studios as can be seen by their red badge on the front. Built especially for synchronizing to cameras, this recorder was not intended to edit but to record the raw sound for use on later editing. It was packed with all sorts of features. Running at 15 IPS, there is a linear speed control which is used in conjunction with the sync indicator to make sure that the playback matches the picture. Also, this machine runs off mains or a battery and has outputs which go to an independent mixing deck.
