The Studer C37 has been told to be the best valve reel to reel ever made, closely followed by the Ampex machines, the design build of this machine is amazing, the whole machine shoes quality from start to finish. Originally this recorder was designed to be fitted in recording studios for master or dubbed master tapes. Quite often, people mistake this machine for the recorders used to record "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978)" from the Beetles, these machines where never used for this recording but the J37 was which is a 4-track version of this machine, the dub to machines where EMI BTR-3 stereo recorders.
